January 14, 2017, the Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation of Baton Rouge, hosted a seminar titled, “Choosing the Right Contractor” at the Delmont Library. BuildSOS’s CEO, Chuck Marceaux and Advisory Board member of Community Outreach, Sister Judith Brun, were honored to be invited guests and speakers. A crowd of 60 attendees were present and actively engaged as they took in useful information on how to rebuild their homes from the August 2016 floods.
The momentum we gained from our December 13, 2016 press event at the home of one of our success stories, Kim Edwards, generated some serious buzz. We were honored to have representatives from both Senator Cassidy and Congressman Garrett Graves’ office in attendance.
We had a news story published on BRProud by Ariana Triggs, found here.
The following Facebook post was shared on Senator Bill Cassidy’s Facebook page after the event.
“In August our new home flooded along with so many of our friends and family. After the initial clean up was done, we were shocked to find out how difficult the rebuilding process would be. Every step of the way was hard and confusing.
The first battle was finding a honest contractor to rebuild our home. After several disappointing interviews a friend recommend Rebuild SOS, who used Champion Builders as our assigned contractor. They were the first contractors to show up on time and give us a true estimate for free. I knew they would be the perfect fit for us. When Mr. Billy and Chris stepped in, I knew all of our concerns would be taken care of.
When we realized our insurance company was going to underpay us, they took over and were able to get us enough money to complete our project. They have been involved in every aspect of the rebuilding process and I know our home will be even more beautiful than it was before the flood. We are so thankful to have such wonderful people on our team and I would highly recommend them to any family or friends.”

“I came in contact with Billy Ward through a mutual friend. Rebuild SOS came in and took over and all began to fall into place. I am still in overwhelmed by how blessed I am when I look throughout the community and see people still trying to pick up the pieces and figure out who to trust with their life’s investment!
